Do you have a Travel Group Page and can I join?

Project STEP LLC has a Travel Group Page with nearly 700 members and growing. There is no charge to become a member. Join our Facebook page at: Steppers Getaway.

Will I need a passport?

Absolutely, you cannot cross the border without one. If you don’t have a passport you will need to apply as quickly as possible. If it is a new passport the application fee is $110 and a $35 execution fee. For full details go to: https://www.state.gov/travelers/

Is this trip refundable?

No. All Project STEP trips are nonrefundable. 

Can I transfer my trip?

Your trip can be transferred with the following understanding: (1) you forfeit reimbursement of any funds paid to Project STEP; (2) you can transfer your trip to one guest only, who is willing to take your trip; (3) all transfers must be made in writing. 

What currency is used in Canada?

Canada uses the Canadian Dollar (C$ or CAD). Since 2014, the Canadian dollar has been worth about 70 or 80 cents compared to one U.S. dollar.

Should I use cash, credit cards or ATMs?

That’s a personal choice. American currency is not widely accepted. ATMs and credit cards may accrue a foreign exchange or conversion fee. Please check with your financial institution. If using an ATM, withdraw enough money for your weekend to avoid unnecessary withdrawal fees. 

What about travel insurance? Is travel insurance really necessary?

Travel Insurance is always HIGHLY recommended and should be purchased immediately after initial payment. Travel Insurance is a small price to pay for a Peace of Mind if you or your roommate runs into any issues. Purchasing travel insurance protects your upfront financial investment and generally covers Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip/Travel delays, Missed Connections, Medical Expenses, Emergency Assistance, Lost Baggage/Baggage delays, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, dependent on the travel plan you select. Click here for more details.

Do you have a payment plan?

Yes. Project STEP uses a “Layaway” Payment Plan on all of its trips. You are only asked to keep up with the payment plan of $200 per month, due on the 15th of the month until payment is complete. Failure keep up with scheduled payments will jeopardize your spot. Otherwise we won’t be able to make our intermittent payments to the Resorts, Cruiselines, Airlines, Hotels, etc. Therefore, we will need for everyone to uphold their part of the Payment Plan. 

How do I make payments?

You can go to the Website to process your credit card payments. Make sure you fill out the registration form. Keep in mind that if you use PayPal, Square, CashApp for more than your initial deposit, a 3% fee will be added onto your final balance.

We also accept Money Orders or Bank Checks. NO PERSONAL CHECKS ARE ACCEPTED. THEY WILL BE RETURNED. Forward payment to:

What if I am late on my payment?

We will always try to work with you, but keep in mind that we are still obligated to pay the Resorts, Cruiselines, Airlines & Hotels at set dates. On certain trips there may be a late charge added (not to exceed $25 per month) after final payment is due. The worst-case scenario is a person could lose their room if they have not kept up with the payment plan and, could incur a cancellation penalty in addition to administrative costs. 

What if I don’t have a roommate?

Getting a roommate is your responsibility. We usually have several people on each trip who don’t/can’t find a roommate. Project STEP will always try to match you with someone with the same demographic information: Sex, Age, Location, Smoker vs Non-Smoker, Early Riser vs Late Riser, but we are not obligated to do so. 

What is included in the trip?

Single, Double & Triple Occupancy includes: Rooms for 3 nights, 4 days, 6 events, 1 afterparty, 1 dinner cruise, 2 breakfasts, 1 brunch, 2 dinners, excursion to Niagara Falls per person. Flight not included. 

For Weekend Packages Only include: Includes 6 events, 1 Afterparty, 2 dinners, 1 cruise, excursion to Niagara Falls for individuals who make their own hotel and air fare arrangements. Excludes breakfast, brunch and rooms. 

Is my flight included?

Flights are not included in the Toronto trip. 

Should I rent a car? Is there shuttle service to/from the Toronto International Pearson Airport (YYZ)?

No. It is recommended that each guest use UP Express (Union Pearson Express). UP Express runs from 5:30am to 1:30am, every 15 minutes. It’s a 25-minute journey from the airport to the Westin, one-way fare $12 each way. Logon to: http://www.upexpress.com. 

Is there a fee for parking at the Westin?

Yes. Project STEP’s negotiated rate per night is $40 per 24 hours including taxes.
